What to Expect During Your SIS Scan
1
Preparation
The procedure is usually performed in the first half of your menstrual cycle (after your period ends but before ovulation). You may be advised to take a mild pain relief 30-60 mins before the scan to minimize discomfort.
2
The Procedure
A thin catheter is passed through the cervix into the uterus. A saline solution is introduced, and ultrasound imaging is used to monitor the uterine cavity.
3
Duration
The entire procedure typically takes 15-20 minutes.
4
After the Scan
You may experience mild cramping or spotting, but these symptoms usually resolve quickly. Most patients can resume normal activities immediately after the scan.
