What is In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF)?

In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) is one of the most advanced and effective fertility treatments available. It involves fertilising an egg with sperm outside the body in a laboratory setting and then transferring the resulting embryo(s) into the uterus. IVF is often recommended for couples facing various fertility challenges, including blocked fallopian tubes, male infertility, or unexplained infertility.

Who Can Benefit from IVF?

IVF may be the right choice for you if:

THE IVF Process at Al Moosa IVF

Here’s what you can expect during your IVF journey:

1

Fertility Consultation

Our fertility specialists will conduct a thorough evaluation of your medical history, perform diagnostic tests, and create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs.

2

Ovarian Stimulation

You will receive fertility medications to stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple eggs. This process is closely monitored through ultrasound scans and blood tests.

3

Egg Retrieval

Once the eggs are mature, a minor surgical procedure is performed to retrieve them. This is done under sedation to ensure your comfort.

4

Fertilisation

The retrieved eggs are fertilised with sperm in our advanced laboratory. In some cases, Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) may be used to directly inject a single sperm into an egg.

5

Embryo Development

The fertilised eggs (embryos) are monitored for growth and development over the next few days.

6

Embryo Transfer

The healthiest embryo(s) are selected and transferred into the uterus using a thin catheter. This is a quick procedure with minimal discomfort.

7

Follow-Up and Support

After the transfer, our team will provide guidance and support. A pregnancy test is usually scheduled about two weeks later to confirm success.

Every question deserves care. Find clarity as you take the
next step.

While the IVF process involves some discomfort, most patients find it manageable. The egg retrieval process is performed under sedation.

The entire IVF process usually takes between 10 to 14 days. However, the timeline may vary depending on your individual treatment plan.

The number of recommended cycles varies, but many couples try 1-3 IVF cycles before achieving success. Our specialists will guide you based on your situation.

Success rates vary depending on factors like age, underlying fertility issues, and overall health.

Like any medical procedure, IVF carries some risks, such as ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) or multiple pregnancies. Our team will closely monitor you to minimise these risks.
