Genetic Screening

Genetic screening services are designed to provide you with critical insights into your genetic health, helping you make informed decisions about your fertility journey and future family. Whether you are planning to conceive naturally or through assisted reproductive technologies, genetic screening can offer peace of mind and reduce the risk of passing on genetic disorders to your children.

What is Genetic Screening?

Genetic Screening involves analysing your DNA (by blood test or buccal swab) to identify potential genetic mutations or chromosomal abnormalities that could affect your health or the health of your future children. At Al Moosa IVF, this process is usually done before conception (preconception screening).

At Al Moosa IVF, we offer a range of genetic screening options, including:

What to expect during Genetic Screening

What to expect during Genetic Screening

1

Initial Consultation

Your journey will begin with a detailed consultation with one of our fertility specialists and genetic counsellors. We’ll discuss your family history, concerns, and testing options.

2

Sample Collection

Depending on the type of screening, a blood, saliva, or tissue sample may be collected. For PGT, a small biopsy sample is taken from the embryo during IVF.

3

Laboratory Analysis

Your sample is analysed in our laboratory using advanced genetic testing techniques.

4

Results & Counseling

Once the results are ready, we’ll provide a detailed report and discuss the findings with you. Our genetic counsellors will explain what the results mean for you and your family and guide you through your next steps.

Every question deserves care. Find clarity as you take the
next step.

Most genetic screening tests, such as blood or saliva tests, are painless. For PGT, a small biopsy is taken from the embryo during IVF, which does not affect the embryo’s development.

Results typically take 1-3 weeks, depending on the type of test. Your genetic counsellor will discuss the timeline with you during your consultation.

Genetic screening is generally safe.
